In the morning we started off early because we had to go all the way from Jodhpur to Udaipur, which is about 350km away, and also making two stops: one at Ranakpur, the largest Jain Temple in India and one at Kumbhagarh, a fort with a 38km wall, which is called the great wall of India. Wikipedia says that it is the second longest one after the Chinese.
The car we arranged the night before was on time and we had to travel 3 hours before reaching our first stop - Ranakpur.
Driving through the countryside was very interesting as we got to see the everyday life of the rural areas. The road was surprisingly good most of the times and not too bumpy.

Three hours later we were at Ranakpur. The Jain Temple was what we expected and looked a lot like the ones we saw in Jaisalmer, only much larger. Some people stay at Ranakpur for the night, but honestly we were not sure what there was to do here for more than an hour.
The temple has 1400 columns, each with completely different and unique decoration.
The next destination was Kumbhalgarh, another 2 hours drive through the mount roads. Great drive, and it was a pity that because we were pressed for time, we couldn't stop on the way.
At Kumhalgarh Fort we were the only non-Indian visitors and everybody was staring at us starting from the gates and all the way up. Because the fort is not exactly on any major tourist route, it was nice to enjoy the peace and quite.
All the way to the top is a 1.5km walk.
We liked the place very much and we enjoyed it being hustle free. After the fort we still had an hour and a half to drive to Udaipur.
We arrived in Udaipur just in time to see a gorgeous sunset above the lake Pichola.
